Neuf titres pour quarante-quatre minutes de musique o\u00f9 vous pourrez entendre Suzi James, Andy Nixon, Martin Hagarty, Phil Stuckey, Charlie Bramald, Jon Wilkinson, Penny Henderson-Gray et bien entendu Jon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un rock progressif atmosph\u00e9rique parfois gilmourien d\u2019une grande simplicit\u00e9 aux claviers planants et \u00e0 la rythmique discr\u00e8te, aux grands soli de guitares et aux voix charg\u00e9es de pathos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pr\u00e8s de trois quart d\u2019heure de musique dont les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices financent deux fondations de lutte contre le cancer, autant dire qu\u2019en achetant l\u2019album vous faites en plus une bonne action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scattering of Leaves d\u00e9gouline de bons sentiments sur une musique proche de celle de Marillion p\u00e9riode Easter, de Dave Kerzner ou de Cosmograf. Un truc qui \u00e0 la base aurait d\u00fb me faire fuir et qui pourtant me fait fondre \u00e0 chaque \u00e9coute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le coup de foudre est venu pour partie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces six fabuleux chanteurs mais aussi \u00e0 cette \u00e9criture toute simple, limite na\u00efve qui me change beaucoup de mes derni\u00e8res d\u00e9couvertes musicales. La pr\u00e9sence d\u2019Andy Nixon de <a href=\"https:\/\/webzine.neoprog.eu\/chronique\/freedom_to_glide\/rain\">Freedom To Glide<\/a> sur deux morceaux (\u2018The Scattering of Leaves\u2019 et \u2018Those We Leave Behind\u2019) n\u2019y est pas \u00e9trang\u00e8re non plus m\u00eame si je n\u2019ai pas accroch\u00e9 \u00e0 son premier album solo <a href=\"https:\/\/andynixon.bandcamp.com\/album\/the-waterline\">The Waterline sorti<\/a> cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019album ne comprend que deux titres instrumentaux. Il y a tout d\u2019abord son ouverture \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de \u2018Serenity\u2019 d\u2019Arena, le court \u2018The Darkest Hour is Just Before the Dawn\u2019 et un peu plus loin \u2018Ascension\u2019 aux claviers, long quatre minutes et vingt-six secondes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur toutes les autres pi\u00e8ces se succ\u00e8dent des chanteurs plus ou moins connus mais tous plus talentueux les uns que les autres. Parmi elles, ma pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e est sans nulle doute la plus longue,\u2019 The Ticking Clock\u2019 o\u00f9 une premi\u00e8re guitare marque le temps qui passe sur une jolie m\u00e9lodie pendant qu\u2019une seconde s\u2019envole sur un solo d\u00e9chirant avant que la voix de Phil Stuckey ne s\u2019impose quelques secondes pour laisser place ensuite \u00e0 un instrumental angoissant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il y a du Floyd dans \u2018The Scattering Of Leaves\u2019, du r\u00e9tro prog dans \u2018Venus\u2019, du n\u00e9o dans \u2018The Ticking Clock\u2019, du prog atmosph\u00e9rique avec \u2018Gratis\u2019, une balade sur \u2018Stormy Clouds or Brightly Lit\u2019 ou du du planant avec \u2018Those We Leave Behind\u2019. Du coup il y en a pour tous les go\u00fbts sauf si vous recherchez les sensations fortes et les grands \u00e9carts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019album The Scattering of Leaves tourne en boucle \u00e0 la maison au grand d\u00e9sespoir de mon \u00e9pouse qui ne comprend pas la brutale r\u00e9gression musicale de son \u00e9poux chroniqueur musical pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9. Mois non plus je ne me l&rsquo;explique pas trop, peut-\u00eatre suis-je devenu fleur bleue en vieillissant ?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais voil\u00e0, j\u2019adore cet album et je vous le <a href=\"https:\/\/checkingforecho.bandcamp.com\/album\/the-scattering-of-leaves\">recommande<\/a> chaudement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Checking For Echo Project - The Scattering of Leaves\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jmRkDraRM70?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
